Cocos Nucifera ( coconut butter)

Coconut Oil vs. Coconut Butter: What’s the Difference?

While both derived from coconut meat, coconut oil and coconut butter differ in their production and properties:
  • Coconut Oil is extracted by cold-pressing the meat, yielding a pure oil that solidifies at room temperature and liquefies when heated. It has a mild to moderate coconut flavor and aroma, making it a versatile ingredient in both cooking and skincare.
  • Coconut Butter, on the other hand, is essentially the "peanut butter of the tropics." It’s made by pureeing the entire coconut meat - including its natural oils- into a rich, spreadable paste. Solid at room temperature but soft when warmed, coconut butter boasts an intense coconut flavor and fragrance, perfect for desserts, spreads, and tropical-inspired dishes, oh and natural skin and hair products.

Coconut Palm (Cocos nucifera)

The coconut palm (Cocos nucifera) is a tall, tropical tree native to the western Pacific islands. As the sole living species of the genus Cocos and a member of the palm family (Arecaceae), it is best known for producing coconuts—botanically classified as drupes rather than true nuts. This versatile tree is primarily cultivated for its coconut oil, a staple in cooking and various other applications.
